MikeinTyler > Pine Warbler
MikeinTyler > Cedar Waxwing swallowing a berry note that the tongue has a "point" anteriorly as well posteriorly which aids in swallowing relatively large fruits.
MikeinTyler > Cedar Waxwing with showing the rather unusual "orange" coloration at the end of the tailfeathers. This is the result of eating the fruit of shrub honeysuckle (Lonicera species) during the molting of the tail feathers. Though fairly common in some areas this is rather uncommon in East Texas. This individual is a young bird as indicated by the lack of the characteristic red "droplets" at the end of the secondaries.
